ADAMS COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — Nearly 11 years after purchasing his dream home, one Adams County man watched that home get demolished Wednesday.
James Clark and his wife bought a 2,300-square-foot home for their growing family in September 2014, located at 3314 N. Hickory Road in Decatur.
“The house, when we first saw it, we were like, ‘Wow. This is an awesome house,’” Clark said. “That’s where I want to raise my kids at.”

Not even a year into living there, the Clarks experienced their first flood. At first, Clark thought it was because of a water main since water was pooling in the front yard, but that wasn’t the case. Clark had a friend who works for the City of Decatur who advised him otherwise and that it was rainwater running off from nearby fields to the lowest point around. Several more floods followed…
