Does Rite Aid still have stores in central Pa.? These have survived the company’s bankruptcy

There’s been no region more important to the history of Rite Aid than south-central Pennsylvania.

For decades, the drugstore chain called East Pennsboro Township in Cumberland County home before moving to Philadelphia a few years ago.

But in the last two years, Rite Aid has closed several stores in the region including:

  • Four stores in Cumberland County — Camp Hill, Carlisle, Silver Spring Township and Upper Allen Township;
  • Three stores in Dauphin County — Harrisburg, Paxtang and Steelton; A store in Halifax Township will close on April 24.
  • One store in Lebanon.
  • Three stores in York County — Fairview Township, Hanover and West York.

Most of those closings took place amid bankruptcy proceedings between October 2023 and September 2024…
