The deadline to get your Real ID is less than a month away and if you fail to upgrade your license now, you may not be able to fly.
The Michigan Secretary of State Office is reminding Michigan residents to book an appointment, if you haven’t yet. SoS office staff are working over capacity and adding appointments for Real ID updates, according to an April 16 news release. More than 74% of driver’s license or ID holders have already upgraded to Real ID, the department said.
“It’s great to see so Michiganders making sure they get their REAL ID before the May 7 deadline,” Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said in the release . “While Michigan is already well above the national average for REAL ID compliance, the recent uptick in appointments is proof that residents are taking the necessary steps to avoid potential travel delays in the future…
