The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 27-year-old Lake Wales man in connection with a fatal head-on collision that occurred in Winter Haven in January. Sergio Nino Ramirez was charged with DUI Causing Death (F2) and Vehicular Homicide (F2) following the results of toxicology tests.
The crash took place at 4:25 am on Saturday, January 25, 2025, on State Road 60 at Logistics Parkway. Orli Dagoberto Argueta Sanchez , 35, of Honduras, was killed when the 2004 Nissan Sentra he was driving was struck by a 2022 Hyundai Sonata traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes.
