Tennessee Senate recognizes 134th Air Refueling Wing members for heroism and Distinguished Flying Crosses

Tennessee – Eleven members of the Tennessee Air National Guard’s 134th Air Refueling Wing, based in Knoxville, were honored by the Tennessee Senate on April 14 for their heroic actions during Operation True Promise, resulting in the awarding of Distinguished Flying Crosses.

The recognition took place in the Senate chambers, where the Airmen were commended for performing combat air refueling missions in contested Middle Eastern airspace.

Their work, involving refueling U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles and other coalition aircraft while under direct enemy fire, played a crucial role in extending the flight time of combat aircraft as they intercepted missiles and drones during an attack on April 13, 2024…
