A driver trying to elude deputies is now forever in their debt after being rescued from his burning car, Florida officials say.
The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, April 13, as Indian River County deputies were pursuing a driver accused of dodging a traffic stop in Vero Beach, the sheriff’s office said in an April 14 news release.
“While searching the area, deputies discovered the vehicle completely engulfed in flames in a small field,” the sheriff’s office said. “It is believed that the vehicle crashed into a tree.”
