RPD: Gunpoint robbery at Family Dollar leads to police chase; 4 people in custody

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Four people are in custody after a gunpoint robbery at the Family Dollar on Lyell Avenue.

It happened at 4:34 p.m. on Wednesday. Police say when officers got there, the suspects had already left. The suspect’s vehicle was seen around Jefferson Avenue and West Main Street. When police tried to pull the car over, the suspect drove away, initiating a police chase.

The suspect’s car was northbound on South Avenue going toward Rockingham Street when it sideswiped another vehicle also northbound on South Avenue, causing the suspect’s vehicle to hit the curb, disabling the passenger side tires…
