Columbus charge against Darnell Jones dismissed for transportation back to Toledo, future indictment expected

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVG) – Records show the charge against Darnell Jones for the incident with SWAT officers has been dismissed in Franklin County Municipal Court, but could continue in Franklin County Common Pleas Court pending a possible future indictment.

Darnell Jones, who also goes by Darnell Ogletree, is accused of killing his 13-year-old daughter Kei’Mani Latigue in Toledo. Just a day after the teen’s body was found in an abandoned home, authorities tracked Jones down in Columbus and shot him during an altercation in which he allegedly tried to pull a gun on officers. He was subsequently charged with felonious assault out of Franklin County.

Court records from April 17 show Franklin County Municipal Court dismissed the felonious assault case for a possible future indictment, allowing Jones to be eventually transported back to Toledo for prosecution in the murder case.
