Cold front coming along with some rain

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – After record heat, a cold front is on the way which will bring not just a cool down but also some much needed rain and storms. Severe storms are possible in southeast Kansas Friday night, but overall, much of the state will dodge the threat of high winds and hail with storms this Easter weekend.

Friday will be much cooler with highs in the 50s and 60s. Dry weather should persist despite the increase in clouds, but late Friday night there will be rain and storms developing across south central and eastern Kansas.

Much of Saturday will be dry, but on the cool side with highs near 60. However, as the main system this Easter weekend develops, rain and storms will spread in from Oklahoma and cover a good part of the state early Sunday. The rain could be heavy at times, but will taper off into the afternoon. Western Kansas will likely receive less than a half inch (west of Hays and Dodge City). However, central and south central Kansas will get more with several areas receiving close to an inch or more…
