Bethlehem police arrest Albany man for possession of controlled substance

Authorities said, a traffic stop on State Route 9W led to the arrest of a 18-year-old Albany resident for drug possession.

On April 17, 2025, an officer from the Bethlehem Police Department pulled over a vehicle near Bender Lane for a Vehicle and Traffic Law infraction. During the investigation, the driver, identified as Amar Mehsin, was found with over one gram of KHAT, a controlled substance containing cathinone, which is classified as a schedule 1 stimulant under Public Health Law.

Mehsin was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree. He was arraigned in the Town of Guilderland Court and subsequently released under the supervision of Albany County Probation…
