TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The father of Kei’Mani Latigue, who is charged with the teen’s murder, has been transported back to Toledo, law enforcement sources confirm to the 13 Action News I-TEAM.
Darnell Jones, who also goes by Darnell Ogletree, was booked into the Lucas County jail on Thursday, sources said. Jones is facing charges of murder, abduction and felonious assault in the death of his 13-year-old daughter, Kei’Mani Latigue, whose body was found in an abandoned building last month.
It comes just hours after Jones’ case in Franklin County Municipal Court was dismissed to allow authorities to transport him back to Toledo to face the Lucas County charges. The court filings there said the felonious assault case stemming from the Columbus incident in which he allegedly pulled a gun on SWAT officers could continue in Franklin County Common Pleas Court pending a possible future indictment.
Investigators have not yet released a possible motive for the murder of Kei’Mani Latigue. Toledo’s Police Chief has told 13 Action News many of the details surrounding the case wouldn’t be released as to not jeopardize the prosecution…
