Plainfield Township has selected Habitat for Humanity of Kent County to build a mixed-use project along Plainfield Avenue that local leaders hope will be the catalyst for future development.
The Plainfield Township Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Monday to sell township-owned land at 2500 5 Mile Road NE to Habitat Kent for $50,000. Along with the sale, the township board also approved a development agreement for Habitat Kent’s conceptual development plans for the site, which include a four-story building with 27 residential units and 10,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor.
