Traffic stop leads to charges for man accused of stealing more than $16,000 worth of merchandise at Berkshire Mall

WYOMISSING, Pa. — A man from the Bronx is now facing charges in Berks County for a retail theft that happened more than a year ago at the Berkshire Mall.

According to Wyomissing Police, 31-year-old Lionel Johnson was caught on surveillance video in April 2024, walking into Victoria’s Secret with a woman and stuffing bags with more than 350 pieces of underwear. The total value of the stolen merchandise? More than $16,000.

“This incident started back in April of 2024,” said Wyomissing Police Chief John Phillips. “We responded to Victoria’s Secret for a report of a retail theft that was just discovered.”…
