Rachel Monárrez stepping down as superintendent of Worcester Public Schools

WORCESTER — Worcester Schools Superintendent Rachel Monárrez will resign at the end of the school year, she announced in a letter that went out to students, parents and faculty April 17.

“After deep reflection, I have accepted a Superintendent position in California and will step down as Superintendent of Worcester Public Schools at the end of June 2025,” Monárrez wrote.

In an interview with the Telegram & Gazette, Monárrez said the decision to move on from Worcester was a personal one. She will be returning to the state where she and her husband, Jesus, have spent a majority of their lives…
