Breaux Bridge man sentenced to 40 years for 2016 manslaughter

BREAUX BRIDGE, La. ( KLFY ) — A Breaux Bridge man has been sentenced for manslaughter in an incident that occurred in 2016.

Yesterday, a sentencing hearing was held for Kieon Alexander, who was unanimously convicted on Nov. 17, 2023, by a St. Martin Parish jury for manslaughter.

Officials said the case involved Alexander and another man, Cordell Batiste, planning to rob a man named Miguel Edmond on Nov. 10, 2016, when at some point during the intended robbery, Alexander fatally shot Edmond twice in the back…
