‘Sneaks’ stumbles when it comes to shoe business

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Anyone who is a connoisseur of footwear will always stress that there is nothing better than the original. Knockoffs have their place, but they will always be of slightly less quality.

That philosophy also holds when it comes to movies. Any production that comes close to looking like a classic design but coming up short is going to suffer. That doesn’t mean the product should be completely rejected because even at a slightly less quality there is some entertainment to be found.

“Sneaks” must deal with that situation. The directorial debut of “The Princess and the Frog” writer Rob Edwards and co-director Chris Jenkins wants to be on the level with “Toy Story 2” or “Cars.” The concept is the same with inanimate objects treated as anamorphic characters. But the animation pales in comparison to those works…
