EVANSVILLE — In a move workers decried as retaliatory, an Evansville television station fired six employees months after staff voted to unionize in the face of opposition from the broadcaster’s parent company.
The firings of junior and senior WEHT/WTVW Eyewitness News employees on April 7 came without warning or bargaining between Nexstar Media Group and the newly formed union even as the company reports record revenues, workers said.
