SYLVANIA, Ohio — The Sylvania Police Division and Sylvania Township Police Department are instructing students to immediately cease playing a game that involves shooting other students with toy guns, specifically after students allegedly “escalated” the game.
According to a press release and notice from both departments, students in the Sylvania area are playing a game known by several names, including “Assassin,” “Water Wars” and “Senior Splashin'”. These games involve students firing toy guns at one another, and have been reported by other law enforcement agencies, including the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Sylvania police said students have escalated the game and posed a public safety risk by disguising their toy guns as realistic guns, and have taken the game onto private property and public roadways…
