It’s supposed to be common knowledge that when you see an Illinois trooper pulled over, you move over. Many sadly are not heeding that warning with another squad car hit and the Illinois State Police issuing a stern warning as a result.
According to the Public Information Office of the Illinois State Police, a trooper vehicle was hit by a passing motorist for the 5th time this year on April 7 as the officer was responding to a crash near Interstate 94 near 130th Street in Chicago. The trooper was sitting in his vehicle at the time of impact and was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Illinois State Police dashboard, this is the 5th violation of Scott’s Law already in 2025.
What is Scott’s Law in Illinois?
