Prison for murder of victim in car with his ex-girlfriend

KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for a fatal shooting that took place in south Kansas City in 2023, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.

Dinsmore Baker, 47, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

He received 18 years for 2nd Degree Murder and five years for Armed Criminal Action, which will run consecutively. He also received a five-year sentence for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, which will be served at the same time as the other two counts…
