Contestant Ignores Audience, Loses Big on ‘Price is Right’

Additional Coverage:

Talk about a tough break! A recent “Price is Right” contestant named Susan learned the hard way that sometimes, it pays to listen to the crowd.

With three new cars on the line – a Chevrolet Spark, a Hyundai Venue, and a Toyota Corolla – Susan had the chance to drive away in serious style. The game was One Wrong Price, meaning Susan just had to pick the car with the incorrect price tag.

The studio audience was practically yelling the correct answer, but Susan decided to go with her gut (and her Christmas spirit). Seeing as she was wearing a red top, she chose the red Hyundai Venue, figuring it was a good omen. Host Drew Carey and announcer George Gray had even name-dropped the actual wrongly-priced car, the Toyota Corolla, earlier – a not-so-subtle hint Susan unfortunately missed.

Sadly, Susan’s gamble didn’t pay off. She went home empty-handed, proving that while a little luck never hurts, sometimes it’s best to trust the wisdom of the crowd, especially when a trio of shiny new cars is at stake.
