Verona traffic stop leads to drug arrest

VERONA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A Camillus woman was arrested after an early morning traffic stop in the Town of Verona led to drug charges.

New York State Troopers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Senn Road in the town of Verona at approximately 4 am on Thursday, April 17. Upon their arrival, troopers met with the occupants — 43-year-old Gary Schapp of Munnsville and 37-year-old Kimberlee Pontello of Camillus.

During the interview, troopers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view and had Schapp and Pontello exit the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a plastic container, which was later found to contain methamphetamines. Pontello claimed ownership of the container and was subsequently taken into custody without further incident…
