Gov. Meyer signs executive order to tackle homelessness in Delaware

NEW CASTLE — As certain Delawareans struggle to find secure housing, Gov. Matt Meyer signed an executive order on Thursday to create the Delaware Interagency Collaborative to End Homelessness with the goal of ending youth homeliness and cutting the adult rate in half over the next five years.

There are approximately1,585 homeless Delawareans according to the 2025 Point-in-Time County, with 19.3% of those households including children under 18 – who themselves made up 27.3% of the total homeless population

As a whole, the 2025 count reported a 16% year-over-year increase in homelessness from 2024 to 2025…
