In a recent operation coordinated by the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD), a man was taken into custody following the discovery of a so-called ghost gun in his possession. The arrest was part of a larger effort to tackle the increasing concern over untraceable firearms. According to the MPD’s social media post, the suspect was stopped at the corner of Franklin & Chicago Avenues after a tip from an informant and subsequent police surveillance.
The traffic stop resulted in officers discovering the loaded ghost gun, a type of firearm often assembled from parts and lacking serial numbers, thus evading traditional methods of tracking and control. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was also found to be under an active warrant and prohibited from possessing firearms.
