Friends of the Big Sioux hosts Earth Day celebration at Great Bear

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Although Earth Day isn’t until Tuesday, Sioux Falls residents were able to celebrate early with a festival at Great Bear.

The festival was organized by Friends of the Big Sioux River and featured nature activities, educational booths, and local vendors focused on sustainability.

“Teaching kids aobut the Earth is super important. I love being able to teach them new things, and to see their eyes light up when they see something new, and when we’re able to get them in river, especially and geting them to see different critters that live there. Its really just an eye opening expeirence for them and something that hopefully they will remember for years to come,” said Emily Oyos with Friends of the Big Sioux River…
