ALBANY — A section of Washington Avenue was closed off Saturday afternoon and police advised drivers and pedestrians to steer clear of the area.
Part of Washington Avenue was closed for roughly an hour and a sizeable police presence was seen outside the State Education Building not far from West Capitol Park, where a rally protesting actions by the Trump administration was being held.
“Please be advised police activity on Washington Avenue between North Hawk Street and Eagle Street in reference to an investigation,” an alert from the Albany Police Department said. “There is no threat to the public, but we ask that everyone stay out of the area and seek other routes.”…
