Michigan Spring Weather Alert: Showers and Thunderstorms Set to Soak Grand Rapids on Easter Sunday Through Monday Night

Grand Rapids, Michigan – A soggy Easter Sunday is ahead for West Michigan as back-to-back storm systems bring showers, gusty winds, and thunder to Grand Rapids. Outdoor holiday plans could be disrupted, and drivers along I-96 should prepare for wet pavement and reduced visibility by Sunday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, there’s a 20% chance of rain beginning after 2 p.m. Sunday, increasing to 80% overnight into Monday. Thunderstorms are possible after midnight, with gusts as high as 24 mph and showers continuing into Monday afternoon. Monday’s high reaches 66°F before sharply dropping into the upper 30s Monday night.
