Handcuffed suspect runs from Nashville detectives after drug, gun bust

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A 26-year-old man is behind bars after detectives with the Violent Crimes Division arrested him on multiple drug and weapons charges.

According to Nashville Police, Jimma Yan was found sitting in a suspicious Kia on Nesbitt Lane, with a busted rear window and a strong odor of marijuana. Upon detaining him, detectives searched the vehicle and recovered a backpack containing three pounds of marijuana, 22 THC vapes, fentanyl pills, ecstasy, Xanax, crack cocaine, a loaded handgun with an extended magazine, digital scales, and thousands in cash.

As officers escorted Yan to a patrol car, he ran off while still handcuffed. He was quickly located with help from Madison Precinct officers and the MNPD Aviation Unit…
