San Francisco prosecutors charged a man with murder in connection to a fatal Tenderloin shooting that took place on Monday, district attorney officials said Friday.
Lewis Jefferson Butler, 23, pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer. He was arrested near Market and 6th streets on April 14, officials said.
According to prosecutors, San Francisco police arrested Butler blocks away from a fatal shooting at Mason and Turk streets that left one person dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
