AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — One of the many designations for April is National Volunteer Month, which is why more than 60 people from several different organizations came to Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home in Amarillo to lend a helping hand.
Their purpose was to help spruce up the grounds and add some new features to the courtyard area.
“Not a lot of people know about Ussery-Roan and so being able to come out here and make the place look a little bigger and brighter for them, it makes everybody happy,” said Blake Siebrecht, president of BOOM Adventures. “It makes the community happy and makes those 127 service members who live here enjoy the outdoors.”…
