West Englewood Community on High Alert Following Strong-Arm Robbery on W 69th St., Chicago Police Urge Vigilance

West Englewood residents are on alert after the Chicago Police Department reported a strong-arm robbery in the neighborhood. The incident occurred on March 24 at approximately 3:30 p.m. along the 1600 block of W 69th St., according to a community alert issued by the CPD. The victim faced an offender described as a male, roughly 6 feet 2 to 3 inches tall, weighing between 115 and 130 pounds.

The altercation began with a brief verbal exchange before the offender, rendered faceless by anonymity, forcibly removed the victim’s chain from their neck. After the theft, the victim then fled the scene, while the perpetrator made off with the stolen goods. Residents are urged by police to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals who may match the description of the assailant.
