Texas teens in recovery after being struck by reckless driving student

A fellow student struck two Deer Park High School teens, Aimee and Javier, in the school’s parking lot, sending them to the hospital. Several witnesses say the driver was doing donuts in the lot just before the incident. He lost control and headed straight toward the couple.

Gibson Campbell, like many of the other students, was on a testing schedule, which helps explain why he and the others weren’t in class at 9:30 a.m. on April 15. He was standing in the parking lot when he noticed the driver driving erratically.

“It was just pure chaos,” he told KHOU . “[The driver] was doing donuts, and he was swinging around for his fifth one, and then floored it—right into them.”…
