Nightmare Market to return to Schenectady in May

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Fans of the spooky and strange are invited to the second iteration of the Nightmare Market in Schenectady. The alternative night market will be held on May 17 at Jay Street Marketplace.

Over 70 vendors and businesses will be a part of the upcoming Nightmare Market, which was first held in October 2024 . Featuring vintage wares, taxidermy, Halloween-themed trinkets, haunting art, horror books and more, the market aims to celebrate all things unconventional and “weird.”

The market will open to the public at 5 p.m., with vendors and booths lining Jay Street. The evening event will also showcase various shows and attractions, including a live fire performance, tarot readings, a coffin photo op and wild bird handlers.

First of its kind esports tournament held at local university

In addition to spooky items, there will be several food and drinks available for purchase throughout the market. This iteration’s contributing restaurants include Bull and Bee: Meadery & Tasting Room, Ambition Coffee & Eatery, Sandye’s Cafe & Cakes and Bittersweet Candy Co.

Admission to the Nightmare Market will be free. The event is targeted to adults but children are also welcome. Halloween costumes are also highly encouraged…
