Country music icon Dolly Parton, 79, recently shared some surprising insights into her life, from earthquake preparedness to her unwavering work ethic. The superstar admitted she sleeps with her makeup on while in California, just in case an earthquake strikes. “I’m not going to be on the news and look like hell,” she quipped.

Parton, who has sold over 100 million records, also discussed her passion for performing, stating her intention to keep working “till my last breath.” While acknowledging the rise of AI in music, she affirmed her preference for using her own voice, “good or bad.”

The singer, whose husband Carl Dean recently passed away, envisions herself still performing in her nineties, “standing in these high heels and…still writing and singing.” With an estimated net worth of $650 million, Parton also reflected on her strength of character, crediting her upbringing surrounded by men.

“It’s not easy to boss me around,” she declared. She brushed off criticisms of her flamboyant style, saying, “I don’t care what people think.”

Parton also revealed the ground rules she set for pop artist Sabrina Carpenter before their recent collaboration. She told Carpenter she doesn’t curse, disrespect religion, or use foul language on camera – “but I’m known to if I get mad enough.” The country legend even tweaked one of Carpenter’s lyrics to align with her own values.
