Drugs, gun recovered after police search ‘suspicious’ vehicle in Madison

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation into a “suspicious vehicle” in the Madison area overnight led to the discovery of various drugs and the arrest of one man, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Jimma Yan, 26, was arrested after officers found him on Nesbitt Lane, sitting inside a Kia with the back windshield busted out. The vehicle reportedly smelled of marijuana, prompting officers to conduct a search.

Inside the car, officers said they found a backpack that contained three pounds of marijuana, 22 marijuana vapes, fentanyl pills, ecstasy, Xanax, crack cocaine, a handgun, a loaded extended magazine, two digital scales and thousands in cash.

Yan was placed under arrest, but as officers walked him to a patrol car, he reportedly managed to run away while his arms were handcuffed behind his back. According to authorities, Madison Precinct officers and an MNPD helicopter helped to locate Yan.
