Drug bust across from elementary school nets pills, guns and cash

DECHERD, Tenn. (WZTV) — A months-long investigation led to a major drug bust Tuesday evening just steps from Decherd Elementary School.

On April 15 around 6:00 p.m., Investigator Jody Bray and officers with the Decherd Police Department executed a search warrant at 402 South Bratton Street. Upon entry, officers interrupted an active drug deal and detained two suspects, identified as Joseph Walter Stratton and Stephen Todd Farrington Jr., both of Tullahoma, police said.

Police seized one Oxycodone pill, 20 grams of marijuana and 214 additional pills including Oxycodone, Dilaudid, Xanax and Clonazepam. Also recovered were a 9mm pistol with 400 rounds, a .22 caliber rifle with 500 rounds, drug paraphernalia and $15,500 in cash. The home sits just 112 feet from Decherd Elementary’s main entrance…
