3 people killed, 9 injured in Queens fire: FDNY

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – Three people were killed and another critically injured when a fire broke out in Queens early Sunday morning, according to the FDNY.

The fire started just before 1:40 a.m. on the first floor of a building on Chevy Chase Street between Cambridge Road and Henley Road, fire officials said. The fire burned until after 3 a.m.

Three men, ages 45, 52 and 67, were declared dead on the scene, according to the NYPD. There were eight other people hospitalized in stable condition, according to the NYPD. The FDNY said an additional person was still fighting for their Sunday.

Tony Rock, who lives in the home, told PIX11 News he jumped out of a window when the fire broke out to escape. Fire officials received reports of people jumping from attic windows, according to Chief of Department John Esposito…
