Mitchell Klavins and his band Relic presented a kaleidoscopic range of music, emotions and artists Saturday evening in Savannah Center.
It’s tempting to label Klavins and his group as just a classic rock cover band. But this guy, and these musicians are something more. Just as the Beatles, the Who, Queen, the Rolling Stones and Billy Joel were much more than rock and rollers. Relic is a local band nowhere near those iconic acts, but Relic can breathe new life and meaning into the old songs.
Something mystical happens when a singer and a band capture the essence of a musical spirit that defies categorization and share it with an audience.
