Field of Empty Chairs at OKC National Memorial honors 168 bombing victims

Some people visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum for the first time this year, others go every April 19th to pay respect to the victims and their families at the Field of Empty Chairs.

A large group fo visitors stayed after the 30th remembrance ceremonhy to visit the 168 chairs that represent the bombing victims.

The cold, dreary weather did not stop Jonathan Still from stopping by his aunt’s chair. Andrea Blanton was a HUD employee on the 7th floor of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building. She was one of the 168 people killed. Still said April 19th is a bitter sweet day from remembering his aunt taken too young and celebrating his birthday. Still echoed what so many have said about the perpetrators of the bombing. Instead of creating more acts of violence, the tragedy created the “Oklahoma Standard.”…
