The portal allows individuals to submit tips or complaints related to such practices, ensuring a secure avenue for reporting.
On the same day, the HHS Office for Civil Rights (OCR) opened an investigation into a well-known pediatric teaching hospital following allegations that a nurse was terminated for exercising her federally protected rights of conscience. The investigation focuses on whether the hospital violated the Church Amendments, federal laws that protect healthcare professionals from employment discrimination based on their religious or moral convictions.
The nurse in question reportedly requested a religious accommodation to opt out of administering puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to children, citing moral concerns over the sterilization effects of such treatments.
