AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.
According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:
Tuesday, April 22
- Due to bridgework, northbound I-27 traffic, just east of Canyon, will be detoured to the frontage road at Country Club Road and can re-enter I-27 at the entrance ramp just south of Rockwell Road. See the pictured map below for detour details.
Wednesday, April 23
- The left lane of southbound I-27 at the US 60/87 bridge, just north of Canyon will be closed for bridge work.
- Both directions of I-40 at Crockett Street will be down to one lane as crews remove concrete barriers and perform striping operations.
- Drivers can expect various lane closures on FM 1912, just north of I-40 to US 60, due to routine maintenance. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, April 25.
Thursday, April 24
- The right lane of southbound I-27 at the US 60/87 bridge, just north of Canyon will be closed for bridgework.
Throughout the Week
- Expect various right lane closures on eastbound I-40 from the Oldham County line to Adkisson Road for concrete repairs.
- Expect various left lane closures on the I-40 frontage roads from Eastern Street to Arthur Street for high-mast lighting installation.
- Expect various lane closures on the northbound I-27 frontage roads from Rockwell Road to McCormick Road for patching operations.
- Expect daily lane closures on SH 15 from the east side of Perryton to the west side of Booker for asphalt rehabilitation and hot mix overlay operations. The work is expected to be completed this summer. Traffic lights and a pilot car will be in designated areas to guide traffic during this time.
