LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – The Texas Department of Public Safety released the name of 22-year-old man, Carlos Alejandro Hernandez Briones, who is tied to a chase back in March that ended on the riverbanks of the Rio Grande River. Briones was charged with five counts of human smuggling, evading arrest, and reckless driving. DPS states the chase occurred on April 17, when Briones allegedly drove away from an attempted traffic stop on Lowry Rd.
According to DPS, the chase ended on Pedregal St. where Briones along with two passengers jumped into the Rio Grande River. The two passengers successfully swam across into Mexico, while authorities captured…..
