Asheville Catholics gather for special noon prayer after death of Pope Francis

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The Basilica of Saint Lawrence, a national historic site in downtown Asheville, is holding a special noon prayer service after Pope Francis died Monday. He was 88.

While noon mass on Mondays is typical in the Catholic Church, this particular service brought in a larger crowd due to Pope Francis’ passing.
