Rue Du Belier widening. Lafayette Parish is set to receive nearly $2 million in state reimbursements for the planning and construction of the Rue Du Belier Road widening project, with the parish matching those funds with just over $640,000 in capital outlay dollars. The parish has several road projects in the area, including a road widening and roundabout project on Duhon Road intersecting with Rue De Belier Road.

Introduction

Magnolia Kids Club land donation. The non-profit organization has requested three properties to be donated by the parish to use as agricultural land to hold livestock for educational purposes and events. Magnolia Kids Club offers programming for children in Acadiana, with an emphasis on facilitating entrepreneurship and business ideas.

Lafayette is leading the project, but is partnering with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, which will take the city’s engineering plan to bid. The project includes adding a variety of pedestrian safety measures between Dorothy Street and Jeanne Street along the corridor, along with adding drainage improvements between Jeanne and Amelia streets…
