PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A former Providence firefighter accused of assaulting two police officers at a Johnston bar earlier this year pleaded no contest Friday.
Patrick M. Brearley, 43, was arrested after he allegedly punched two officers at The Ave Bar and Grille on Jan. 4.
Body-worn camera footage obtained by 12 News showed Brearley resisting officers’ commands to leave the bar or sit against the wall. As police tried to escort him outside, he pulled back, clenched his fist, and punched an officer.
