AKRON, Ohio — Akron police say two people were hurt in a weekend shooting, which happened early Sunday morning while both victims were inside a vehicle near the intersection of Johnston and Wilson streets.
It was around 5:48 a.m. when officers responded to the hospital amid the reported shooting and spoke with the two victims, who told police they were shot at by an unknown suspect in a white SUV with tinted windows.
Police identified the victims as follows:
- 37-year-old man: Struck in the left leg and elbow
- 23-year-old woman: Graze wound to the arm
“Responding officers canvassed the area and recovered more than a dozen shell casings in the 800 block of Johnston Street,” according to a press release from Akron police. “The officers also discovered that an occupied home and vehicle in the driveway had also been struck several times. Officers found multiple occupants inside the home and recovered a firearm along with additional shell casings.”…
