Joseph Petty to run for eighth term as Worcester mayor

WORCESTER ― Mayor Joseph M. Petty is expected to announce April 22 that he will run for an unprecedented eighth term as Worcester mayor.

Petty has scheduled a news conference at Burncoat High School to make the announcement. A press release from the campaign stated that Petty will run on “his continued commitment to education, affordable housing, public safety, economic development — and to being a mayor who brings people together.”
