50 years ago, Willie Nelson went to a North Texas suburb and recorded music history

GARLAND, Texas — The City of Garland is hosting a two-day celebration of Willie Nelson’s iconic “Red Headed Stranger” album on the 50th anniversary of its recording, the city announced.

The event will include a film screening, a concert series and a tribute concert featuring some of Dallas’ most prominent musicians, the city said in a press release.
