Gov. Bob Ferguson signs 35 bills into Washington law. Here are the changes they made

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Gov. Bob Ferguson signed 35 more bills Monday into Washington law.

These bills range in topic from directing public health officials to respond to disease outbreaks with the best available science, restricting when the National Guard from another state may come into Washington, and efforts to reduce the “criminal element” in gambling.

These bills are just some of the dozens Ferguson has already signed into law this session.

ESHB 1531

Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1531 requires public health responses to communicable diseases to be guided by the best available science. It stipulates that state and local officials must implement and promote evidence-based, appropriate measures to control the spread of communicable diseases, including immunizations and vaccines.

SHB 1321

Substitute House Bill 1321 prohibits a military force from another state, territory, or district (like another state’s National Guard) from entering Washington state to perform a military duty unless given permission by Washington’s governor, or under the direction of the U.S. President…
