The U.S. State Department announced a $5 million reward on Monday for information leading to the arrest or conviction of MS-13 leader Yulan Adonay Archaga Carías, also known as “Porky” and “Alexander Mendoza.” Archaga Carías is the leader of MS-13 in Honduras and is wanted for a range of serious crimes, including drug trafficking, conspiracy to possess machine guns, and continuing criminal enterprise conspiracy.
The State Department emphasized the severity of Archaga Carías’s alleged crimes, noting his involvement in ordering murders of rival gang members, supplying weapons to drug traffickers, and orchestrating the importation of large quantities of cocaine into the United States. He is also accused of directing other violent crimes, including kidnappings.
Archaga Carías is currently on the FBI’s, DEA’s, and Homeland Security Investigations’ Ten Most Wanted Fugitives lists. He was previously sanctioned by the Treasury Department in February for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking, murder, extortion, and money laundering.
He also escaped from prison in Honduras and remains at large. The reward is offered through the Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program and applies to information received from any country.
